Solar hot water
« on: April 13, 2011, 06:34:31 AM »
I happen to have an almost southern facing roof so have always wanted to play with solar heat or hot water.  Since size is basically the difference between the two, hot water would be the place to practice.  Here is the description for a DIY $1,000 solar hot water system with free plans from a project in Montana.  If they can collect solar energy up there, you folks down south should be smoking.
Enjoy,

Down here in Arizona the payback on solar hot water heaters always works out for the consumer.  The power company promotes them for their customers.
