Low pressure manometer readings

(1/2) > >>

Bud9051:
Jason and others,
I want to be able to measure zero through 5 pascals or so with a reasonable degree of consistency.  My DG-700 just doesn't want to average down that well.  I would rate my skills with a manometer as needing advice, but I'm wondering if there are other meters better suited for the task.

These would be stack pressure reading from inside to outside a house.

SLS Construction:
I only used the DG700 during training, but it always seemed to be pretty accurate & easily handled those measurments - so I am curious what the averaging issue is. When was the last time you checked the calibration on yours?

David Meiland:
Bud, check the manual and figure out how to adjust for longer averaging... go for 10 seconds or so and it smooths out the readings nicely.

Bud9051:
Calibration is fine, but I'm just looking for a really stable number.

David, read the manual right :).  Well it worked.  I was doing everything correct, but when I went over the process I realized I was overlooking exactly what I need, baseline averaging.  We can allow the baseline to average over a much longer time.  The 10 seconds wasn't enough, but a full minute and my number settles down to plus or minus 0.05.  And in actuality, I can estimate it even a bit closer.  Already tried it and it looks good.

Jason, I would still like to hear if you have a meter that can do this a little better as I would like to have a second meter anyway.

Thanks,
Bud

Bud,

When you see the averaging it effects the baseline and it effects the actual readings.
